Undo allows a user to cancel the last action they performed. To perform an undo, click Undo in the edit menu or Ctrl + Z on the keyboard.
Redo allows a user to perform the last action they cancelled ("undid"). To perform a redo, click Redo in the edit menu or Ctrl + Y on the keyboard.
Annotate allows a user to add, edit, move, and delete roots. This button must be pressed before the New Root, Extend Endpoint, Delete Root, and
Move All Roots buttons will become available.
To create a new root, select New Root from the Edit menu, click on the New Root button in the right pane, or press Ctrl + R on the keyboard.

To move all the roots visible in the current window, select Move All Roots in the Edit menu, click on the Move All Roots button in the right pane, or press Ctrl + M on the keyboard.

Extend Endpoint allows the user to modify the length of the root without creating a new root. It may be selected in the Edit menu or in the right pane.

To delete an existing root, select Delete Root under the Edit menu, click on the Delete Root button in the right pane, or press the delete key on your keyboard.

Roots may be copied from the current session or in all windows of all tubes and may be transferred to other sessions. To copy roots, select Copy… in the Edit menu, click on the Copy... button in the right pane, or press Ctrl + C on the keyboard.

Allows a user to have Rootfly automatically detect roots. When this option is selected Rootfly will attempt to detect all roots in the current session.
To change the current directory of where the images of the experiment are located select Image Directory… under the Edit menu.
In order to change the current settings of the image file format, select Image File Format… under the Edit menu.

In order for Rootfly to be able to determine the actual length of a root, the software must be calibrated to determine the pixel to mm ratio. This is located as Calibrate (pixels per mm)… under the Edit menu.
If Rootfly is unable to determine the session dates from the images in the project image directory, this option will be available in the Edit Menu. Selecting Session Dates... loads the following dialog so a user can manually set the session's dates.

Auto Detection has been added to Rootfly with version 1.8.22. Selecting Auto Detect Options allows the user to influence its behavior. These options (as shown in the image below) have the following effect when checked:

Selecting Custom Codes... gives the user the ability to add or delete a root code. The user may also set an existing code to default. Roots can be assigned a code by selecting the root and changes its properties found in the status/properties pane.

Rootfly uses colors to distinguish between the current state of roots.

To change the colors of a certain root status select Drawing Colors… under the Edit menu.
