Action Domains

The SCCMS Board of Advisors is responsible for providing broad policy and programmatic guidance for SCCMS in accordance with the collective views of the membership, partners and funding agents. Advisors serve the organization by contributing time, resources or expertise to fulfilling the mission of SCCMS.  Membership represents the geographical regions and the ethnic, gender rural and urban diversity of our state. 
       
Appointed Positions represent:
  • SC-based business, industry or related associations
  • SC Chamber of Commerce
  • SC mathematics teachers
  • SC science teachers
  • SC school superintendents
  • SC professional organization focusing on issues related to the education of minority populations
  • SC-based informal STEM education organizations
  • SC Four Year Institutions of Higher Education
  • SC Technical Colleges
  • SC Legislature

Ex Officio members represent specific governmental or educational organizations of interest to SCCMS.

The Board of Advisors meets three times annually or at such times when circumstances require that a special meeting be called.  Dates for regularly scheduled meetings are the second Thursday in January, May and September or as determined by a majority of the Board.
