Founding Partners

BMW Manufacturing Co., Dupont, Michelin North America and Progress Energy have committed considerable resources toward the improvement of science and mathematics instruction in South Carolina schools. This common bond of partnership has lead to the development of our coalition. SCCMS Founding Partners are dedicated to constancy and quality in the state's approach to STEM education. The SC Department of Education has committed personnel and planning resources toward the development and management of SCCMS activities. Additionally it makes members of the SC Mathematics and Science Unit available to assist with SCCMS activities as necessary. Fluor Corporation's vision is to be the preeminent leader in the global building and services marketplace by delivering world-class solutions. As the company plays a role in building the world's infrastructure, it also is committed to building communities and to having a positive impact on the quality of life in the communities we touch. Fluor's philanthropy and community involvement is an important aspect of our corporate citizenship. This encompasses investing funds in communities, involving employees, supporting employee giving, and building relationships in our communities.

In-kind Involvement:  SCCMS generally seeks services (ie. logistics expertise for an Instructional Materials Support initiative or PR/Marketing expertise for Advocacy activities). SCCMS may seek specific materials for initiatives or operations.  We do not seek  supplies/equipment/furnishing or other items) to be redistributed to schools or other STEM education entities.   In-kind contributions will be determined by fair market value of the service or materials.

Employee Involvement: Opportunities exist particularly in Clemson/Greenville, or where Innovation projects are taking place.  Training and support is essential for those who are interested in working in schools on behalf of SCCMS.  Partnership value on employee involvement contributions will be determined by the most current available figure reported by Independent Sector.    See www.independentsector.org

SCCMS operates under the 501(c) 3 status of  the Clemson University Foundation.

All partners will be recognized for their commitment to STEM education on our website, in Coalition publications and in other mutually agreeable ways.
