One concern about crumb rubber modified (CRM) asphalt often expressed by those in the asphalt industry is the recyclability of asphalt mixtures containing CRM binders. The recycling of reclaimed asphalt pavements (RAP) containing CRM binder is an important issue to investigate because some of these types of pavements in the United States are more than 10-15 years old. In this study, a laboratory investigation is being conducted on the possibility of recycling laboratory-prepared CRM RAP in Superpave mixtures by following a standard recycling practice.
