For Summer 2008 Clemson Bioengineering will offer two research programs aimed at both graduate and undergraduate science and engineering majors. Over a period of nine weeks, from May 29 to July 26, 2007, these unique interdisciplinary programs will integrate education and research in the field of biomaterials and medical device design from concept to clinical applications. Latest Faculty Hire Brings Full-Time Bioengineering Faculty to a Record High
On July 1, 2007, Dr. Ning Zhang joined the faculty of the Dept. of Bioengineering as Assistant Professor of Bioengineering bringing the number of tenured/tenure track faculty to nineteen, a record high since the department's establishment in the mid-sixties.

Funding Approved for Clemson Translational Bioengineering Research Center
$3.5 million has been approved for a Clemson University bioengineering facility in Greenville to develop medical technology that will help people live longer and more comfortably. The Translational Bioengineering Research Center will be located at the GHS Patewood Campus.
