Born in India and currently residing in Ilford, Essex, England, Rachael holds the Bachelor of Science degree with distinction (B.Sc. Hons., Upper Second Class) in Molecular Biology with concentration in Forensic Science from Queen Mary University of London.

Rachael is currently enrolled as a doctoral candidate to earn the Ph.D. at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre within Queen Mary University of London. There she works under the supervision of Professor Pankaj Vadgama, and externally, through international collaborative research, under the supervision of Professor Anthony Guiseppi-Elie of the Clemson University Center for Bioelectronics, Biosensors and Biochips. Her doctoral research is concerned with the role of microflows in the study of bioaffinity and bioadhesion to electroconductive hydrogels. She will attend the 2008 IBE Conference in Chapel Hill where many C3B Faculty and associates will be participating.

Rachel's personal interests include Yoga, reading, travelling and her personal philosophy is “Learn as you were to live forever….but live as if you were to die tomorrow”.
