The Third Annual *ACES Cup and Social

A highlight of Clemson's National Engineers Week observance, the Third Annual ACES Cup and Social will be held at the Walker Golf Course and Owen Pavilion at Clemson University. The event is scheduled for Friday, February 22, with a shotgun start promptly at 11:00 a.m. at The Walker Course.

The tournament raises funds for engineering and science scholarships. The competition will establish departmental bragging rights and the social afterwards provides a great opportunity to renew friendships, meet other engineering and science alumni, and interact with current students. Incidentally, you don't have to be a golfer to attend the social.

The outing will be in the captain's choice format with foursomes competing in one of two divisions.

Scholars Division

  • All CoES departments will compete.
  • Each departmental team will consist of 4 amateurs, with a minimum of:
    - 1 faculty or staff member
    - 1 student
    - 1 alumnus
  • Departments can field as many teams as they wish.
  • Permanent and individual trophies will be awarded.

Open Division

  • Open division teams can be made up of any combination of amateurs.
  • Individual prizes will be given for accuracy, longest drive, closest to the hole, longest putt, and low team score.

Registration fee is $60/person ($25/student) - golf cart and range balls included.

To help the committee form the foursomes, you are asked to name any person or persons with whom you would like to play. Tournament organizers will make every effort to accommodate your request. Engineering and science students are also invited to play and it is our intention to intersperse students on each team.

You can reserve your spot by filling out this printable form and returning it along with a check made payable to CLEMSON UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION no later than February 8, 2002. For more information, please contact Barbara Emkin at 864-656-2406, or through electronic mail at EMKINB@CLEMSON.EDU.
