Good Fortune brings 9th conference win

At the regional competition this year, Clemson's concrete canoe team of civil engineers clenched its ninth straight conference win - currently the longest winning streak in the country. The back-to-back 1999 and 2000 national champions then went on to take second-place honors at the 14th annual National Concrete Canoe Competition, held at San Diego State University. With their pirate-themed entry, Good Fortune, the Clemson team fell just six points short of making it three championships in a row.

The women's concrete canoe team members also had a strong showing, beating 23 female endurance race teams and 24 male endurance race teams.
