AAAS Fellow

Luis Echegoyen, chair of Clemson's chemistry department, has been elected to the rank of Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Each year the AAAS elects members whose "efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished."

Echogoyen was honored for distinguished contributions to electrochemical processes in organic chemistry and for outstanding leadership in encouraging underrepresented minority students into science through research.
