Webster endows chemical engineering

The Francis S. Webster Endowment for Excellence in Chemical Engineering has been established by Francis S. Webster, Jr. ('42 B.S. CH-ENGR), at the level of $25,000. This gift will provide unrestricted funds for use by the department at the discretion of the department chair. Webster is a retired vice president from 3M, and currently resides in Hilton Head.

"We are very grateful for Mr. Webster's generosity," stated Jim Goodwin, chair of chemical engineering. "We especially appreciate the fact that his unrestricted gift gives us great flexibility as we consider the opportunities it has created. This kind of support makes it possible for us to fund the department's top priorities. This is truly 'Top 20' giving!"

Earnest is published by the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University for the alumni and friends of the College. Subscriptions are free upon request.
