WISE hosts students and alumni

Clemson's Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) program and the Society of Women Engineers recently brought together current females majoring in engineering or science, and alumni from South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. These alumni represented industrial giants like General Electric, BMW, Michelin, and BASF.

"Our purpose," according to WISE director, Serita Acker, "was to give students a chance to meet and network with women who are currently writing the success stories in educational and industrial settings across the southeast." Over 150 students and alumni attended.

Two key supporters of the WISE program, Sue Lasser, manager of Programs for Educational Enrichment and Retention (PEER) and Tom Keinath, dean of the College of Engineering and Science were both honored for their commitment to increasing female enrollment in engineering and science.
