The Clemson Commitment

As you probably know, Clemson is now engaged in a capital campaign in its drive to be the nation's premier land-grant university. To meet that goal, the University needs to raise $210 million. The College of Engineering and Science is working toward contributing $76 million to that effort.

The Clemson Commitment

Your participation is extremely important for two reasons:

To fulfill its vision of being a leader in engineering and science education, the college needs to increase its funding for scholarships and endowed professorships. Attracting high-quality undergraduates and distinguished scholars is critical.

The other reason why your participation is so important is that the number of alumni who make a gift every year is a key factor in national rankings of colleges and universities. To be honest, we're not doing so well in this category right now.

Of the nine schools in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Clemson is 7th in undergraduate alumni giving -- behind Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina and N.C. State. And, probably the worst news of all is that we're even behind USC!

If you want to help remedy this situation, take the opportunity to get involved in the College of Engineering and Science Clemson Commitment. For more information, please contact CES development officers Bill Mays or Kim Dawson at (864) 656-7696.
