Alumni in the spotlight
The Fifth Annual *ACES Cup and Social
*Updated
A highlight of Clemson’s National Engineers
Week observance, the Fifth Annual ACES Cup and Social will be held
at the Walker Golf Course and Owen Pavilion at Clemson University.
The event is scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2004,
with a shotgun start promptly at 11:00 a.m.
The
tournament raises funds for engineering and science scholarships.
The outing will be in the captain’s choice format with
foursomes competing in one of two divisions. Incidentally,
you don’t have to be a golfer to attend the social.
Scholars
Division
• All CoES departments may compete.
• Each departmental team will consist of 4 amateurs,
with a minimum of:
1 faculty or staff member
1 student
1 alumnus
• Departments can field as many teams as they wish.
• Permanent and individual trophies will be awarded.
Open Division
• Open division teams can be made up of any combination
of amateurs.
• Individual prizes will be given for accuracy, longest
drive, closest to the hole, longest putt, and low team score.
Registration fee is $60/person ($25/student) – golf cart
and range balls included.
To help the committee form the foursomes, you are asked to name
any person or persons with whom you would like to play. Tournament
organizers will make every effort to accommodate your request. Engineering
and science students are also invited to play and the goal is to
intersperse students on each team.
