CoES Leadership Changes

Anand
K. Gramopadhye, professor of industrial engineering,
and director of Clemson’s Advanced Technology Systems
Laboratory, has been named chair of the industrial engineering
department. Gramopadhye will continue his research, exploring
ways to use advanced technology, and specifically, virtual reality,
to improve aircraft inspection performance. Gramopadhye earned
his bachelor’s degree from India’s Victoria Jubilee
Technical Institute, University of Bombay and his master’s
and doctoral degrees from the State University of New York at
Buffalo. |

Michael
S. Ellison, professor of textile and polymer science,
has been appointed interim director of the School of Materials
Science and Engineering. Dr. Ellison received his B.S. and M.A.
degrees in physics, and his Ph.D. in polymer fiber physics,
from the University of California, Davis. His research program
focuses on natural and synthetic fiber structure development
and process/structure/property relationships. |

Chris
Porter has joined the College of Engineering and Science
as the new director of undergraduate recruitment. Porter comes
to Clemson from Midlands Technical College, in Columbia, S.C.,
where he was associate director for high school programs. He
completed his undergraduate work at Lander University, and holds
an M.A. and M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina. |
