Formula SAE

Clemson’s Formula SAE team competed at the nationals in Detroit’s Pontiac Silver Dome, and placed 30th out of 140 teams from around the world. For 2004, the Clemson Formula SAE team is combining the talents of engineering students with those of business undergrads to create what some are calling the most dynamic Formula SAE team in the country.

The team has adapted a unique time line, spending the summer on research and development, while devoting the fall to construction and testing. Plans call for the car to be assembled and ready for trails by the end of February.

The SAE team includes (top, left to right) Seth Barbour, David Metcalfe, Sebastien Alibert, David Grainger, Andy Miller, Eric Johnson, David Cimba, Eric Boettner, Daniel Hynum, Tommy Joseph, Julie Kaye, Jeremy Losaw. (bottom, left to right) Chris Trangsrud and Jay Jakupca.
