Steel Bridge makes the Top 10 – again!

The National Student Steel Bridge Competition hosted 44 teams – about a quarter of the 182 groups who originally competed at regional levels. Clemson placed 7th overall and took home 2 awards. The Tigers placed 2nd in construction speed, and took 3rd in construction economy, which is a category that combines speed and team size. In all other categories, Clemson placed in the top 15. This year’s performance improves
on last year’s 8th place finish.

The 2003 Steel Bridge Team included (from left to right): Warren Rohloff, Matt Cline, Bee Baker, Jonathan Atkins, Viet Huynh, Patrick Swindler, Gene Rogers, Josh Stamm (team captain), Geoff Chambers, Ryan Lyle (assembly team captain), and Nathan Cockfield. Not pictured: Josh Blake, Darius Bellinger, Max Wright, Charlie Wilson, Joe Giametta.
