The highlight of the event was the presentation
of the Hattie B. Wagener Award, which is given annually to the top
administrative staff member. This year’s winner was Mary Shirley,
an administrative assistant in the School of Environment. She was
recognized for this award because of her support, dedication, and
leadership to other members in the department. She always tries
to get the job done right with the constant desire to find new ways
to become more efficient and proficient. She inspires other staff
and faculty with her hard work and the concern she shows for students
and co-workers.
