NSF funds CAEFF Research Experience for Teachers program


The Center for Advanced Engineering Fibers and Films (CAEFF), an NSF Engineering Research Center with core partners Clemson University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Clark Atlanta University (CAU), has been awarded an NSF grant totaling $400,000 over three years to establish a Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) at Clemson and CAU. The goals of the program, entitled Engineering Fibers and Films Experience (EFF-X), are to familiarize teachers with the research process, educate them about polymer science and technology, and engage them in the transfer of knowledge from laboratory to classroom.

Lisa Benson, CAEFF’s education director, and Eric Mintz, from Clark Atlanta University have secured an NSF grant to create a Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program at Clemson and Clark Atlanta.
