Rumph receives certification

Terry Rumph, a grant coordinator in the CoES Office of Proposal Development/Pre-award Services, has been designated a Certified Research Administrator by the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC). Through experience and testing, she has demonstrated the fundamental knowledge necessary to be a professional research or sponsored programs administrator.
Rumph is part of a team in the Office of Proposal Development/Pre-award Services that processes nearly 700 research proposals per year, resulting in some $60 million in award funding – about 48% of the Clemson’s 2004-05 annual total of $125 million

Reeves recognized as “Volunteer of the Year”

Susan Reeves, a systems programmer in Computer and Network Services, was honored recently for her work as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for Oconee County. In the United States, English Common Law forms the basis for the use of a GAL in court proceedings involving children and other individuals deemed “incompetent” by age or other disability to adequately represent their own interests.
While Reeves lives in Clemson, she is a former resident of Oconee County, so she has continued to work with the system there. She has been a GAL for 7 years, and currently has 10 children in foster care that she represents
“These children are the future,” Reeves says. “As a GAL, I’m trying to shaping that future for the better.”
