Letter of intent may lead to partnerships

Clemson Provost Doris Helms (left)
and Xi-Gao Wang, chairman of Jiangling Motors of Nanchang, China,
have signed a letter of intent to develop cooperative partnerships.
This memorandum of understanding formally establishes ties between
Clemson and the Jiangling Motors Company Group. Jiangling Motors,
a $10 billion enterprise, is a top automotive manufacturing company.
Thirty percent of its stock is owned by Ford Motor Co., and Jiangling
also has joint holdings with Isuzu Motors.
