Clemson’s student chapter of Tau Beta Pi, in conjunction
with the College Relations Office and Office of Recruitment, is
planning a week of activities to celebrate the contributions made
by engineers and scientists. Complete details can be found on the
Tau Beta Pi website.
Friday, March 31st
8th annual Alumni of Clemson Engineering and Science (ACES) Golf
Tournament (see sidebar for details).
Sunday, April 2nd
Bowman Field Kickoff Party
4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The kickoff signals the beginning of Engineering and Science Week.
Plans call for a cookout, live music, and a t-shirt sale/distribution.
Monday, Apr. 3rd
Clemson Engineering and Science Fair
Hendrix Student Center
9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Open to the public after 3:00 pm
Over 500 students from Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties will
visit campus to learn more about engineering and science disciplines
and career opportunities.
Wednesday, April 5th
Eleventh Annual Engineering and Science Banquet
Madren Conference Center. The highlight of the banquet will be the
induction of candidates into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of
Distinguished Engineers and Scientists, and recognition of the Outstanding
Young Alumni.
The Eighth Annual *ACES Cup and Social
The eighth annual ACES Cup and Social will be held at the Walker
Golf Course and Owen Pavilion at Clemson University on Friday, March
31, 2006. Students, faculty and alumni get together for a fun outing
that raises funds for engineering and science scholarships. The
format will be captain’s choice with foursomes competing in
one of two divisions. See details below. Incidentally, you don’t
have to be a golfer to attend the social.
Scholars Division
• All CoES departments may compete.
• Each departmental team will consist of 4 amateurs, with
a minimum of:
1 faculty or staff member
1 student
1 alumnus
• Departments can field as many teams as they wish.
• Permanent and individual trophies will be awarded.
Open Division
• Open division teams can be made up of any combination of
amateurs.
• Individual prizes will be given for accuracy, longest drive,
closest to the hole, longest putt, and low team score.
Registration fee is $60/person ($25/student) – golf cart
and range balls included.
To help the committee form the foursomes, you are asked to name
any person or persons with whom you would like to play. Tournament
organizers will make every effort to accommodate your request. Engineering
and science students are also invited to play and the goal is to
intersperse students on each team.

form and returning it along with a check made payable to CLEMSON
UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, no later than March 15, 2006. For more information,

The 2006 Clemson Engineering and Science Banquet
Clemson’s 11th Annual Engineering and Science Banquet is
scheduled for Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the Madren Conference
Center. The highlight of the banquet will be the induction of candidates
into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Distinguished Engineers
and Scientists, and recognition of the Outstanding Young Alumni.
A 6:15 p.m. reception will be held in honor of this year’s
inductees. Reservations for the banquet ($20.00/person), which include
dinner and a complimentary drink ticket for the reception, can be
purchased by returning this
form by March 15, 2006.
