Komo endowment
Professor John Komo recently retired from Clemson University’s Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In his 34 years of service, he has been a teacher, mentor, and friend to many of the thousands of students who have been enrolled in the Department's electrical and computer engineering programs.
Professor Komo has always demonstrated a particular interest in the vitality of the graduate program and the well-being of graduate students. A gifted instructor of graduate-level courses in communication systems and coding theory, he has also supervised the research of many engineering graduate students at Clemson.
In a tangible expression of his commitment to Clemson’s ECE graduate program, he has established and partially funded the Dr. John J. Komo Graduate Student Assistance Endowment. This endowment will provide financial support for students pursuing graduate degrees in electrical or computer engineering at Clemson.
A number of alumni have expressed an interest in making additional contributions to the Komo Endowment in recognition of his generosity and years of valuable service to the university.
Gifts may be made to the Clemson University Foundation using the enclosed business reply envelope and gift coupon in support of the Komo endowment.
