Honoring a friend

Steve and Kathy Cawood established The Thomas M. Keinath Endowment in Environmental Engineering & Science, honoring CoES Dean, Tom Keinath (right).

Steve Cawood (BS CE ‘76, MENGR ESE ‘77) and his wife, Kathy, have provided a gift to the School of the Environment, named in honor of CoES Dean, Tom Keinath.

“Sometimes people touch you in special ways,” observed Cawood. “Dean Keinath was a mentor and friend who made a profound impact on my life. Kathy and I wanted to commemorate that relationship in a special way.”

Commemorative gifts are special – not only to the person honored, but to the department that benefits as well. The Thomas M. Keinath Endowment in Environmental Engineering & Science will provide unrestricted funds that can be used in a variety of ways to enrich the educational experience here at Clemson, such as graduate student recruiting, seminar speakers, and special lectures.

Cawood is president of Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. (GM&C), which offers professional services associated with architecture, civil and environmental engineering, landscape architecture, planning, surveying and construction administration.

Alumni and friends may add contributions to the Thomas M. Keinath Endowment in Environmental Engineering & Science. For more information about this fund or commemorative gifts, contact the College of Engineering and Science Development Officer, Kim Dawson, at (864) 656-7013, or through e-mail at dawson@clemson.edu.

Earnest is published by the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University for the alumni and friends of the College. Subscriptions are free upon request.
