ME owns the Cup!

The ladies carry the day (and Beasley)! The 2003 ACES Cup Champs are (from left to right) Heather McClusky, Don Beasley, Tiffany Camp, and Kim Carpenter.

The Fourth Annual ACES (Alumni of Clemson Engineering and Science) Cup was an exciting affair! When two scholar teams tied at 61, tournament director Brent Jessup decided that since there were 14 foursomes in the tourney, low score on the 14th hole would decide the winner. That call moved the ACES Cup to a new home in mechanical engineering. A foursome, made up of Don Beasley, Tiffany Camp, Kim Carpenter and Heather McClusky was declared the winner. Carrying the banner for civil engineering, Frank Eskridge, Regan Prince, Jim Sams, and Garry Higgenbotham placed second, and gave notice that they’d be back.

The ACES Cup is part of the CoES observance of National Engineers Week. College alumni, faculty, staff, students, and guests tee off at the Walker Course to have some fun while raising funds for engineering and science scholarships.

Earnest is published by the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University for the alumni and friends of the College. Subscriptions are free upon request.
