WISE hosts students and alumni

Clemson’s Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) program and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) recently brought together female students majoring in engineering or science, and alumni from South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. These alumni represented industrial giants like General Electric, BMW, and Michelin. The program was sponsored by General Electric’s Women’s Network group.

“This is the second year for our networking dinner, and it’s proving to be very valuable,” according to WISE director, Serita Acker. “Students meet women who are writing the success stories in educational and industrial settings across the southeast.” Over 150 students and alumni attended. The featured speaker was Jennifer A. Balevic, manager of GE’s Gas Turbine NPI Programs.

Earnest is published by the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University for the alumni and friends of the College. Subscriptions are free upon request.
