Classified staff recognized
The
College of Engineering and Science (CoES) recognized ten staff members
for exceptional service at its annual awards ceremony. The highlight
of the event was the presentation of the Hattie B. Wagener Award,
which is given annually to the top administrative staff member.
This year’s winner was Sherri Morrison, who in addition to
her assigned duties as a bioengineering administrative assistant,
assumed the role of liaison for international faculty and students.
Outside of work hours, she has learned and studied INS regulations;
has established contacts at INS to prevent application rejections;
and has developed a survival guide for international scholars and
students. She also has taken it upon herself to be the confidante,
guide and mentor of the 30 summer interns that the department trains
on a yearly basis.
