Classified staff recognized
The College of Engineering and Science (CoES) recognized ten staff
members for exceptional service at its annual awards ceremony. The
ceremony took place in December, after the winter edition of Earnest
had gone to press, so the honorees are being recognized in this
edition.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Hattie B.
Wagener Award, which is given annually to the top administrative
staff member. This year’s winner was Cathy Godfrey,
an administrative assistant in bioengineering. As student services
coordinator, Cathy has worked tirelessly to develop a successful
dual enrollment graduate program with the Medical University of
South Carolina (MUSC). Due to her efforts, her departmental students,
enrolled in a dual status at MUSC, now enjoy all benefits associated
with the MUSC College of Graduate Studies, including access to recreational
facilities, library and healthcare services, and registration services.
