Huang honored
Yong
Huang, assistant professor of mechanical engineering was
named the Branimir F. von Turkovich Outstanding Young Manufacturing
Engineer for 2006 by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
The award is conferred in recognition of significant achievements
and leadership in the field of manufacturing engineering as a young
engineer. Yong is one of 13 recipients nationwide. Last year Huang
received the very prestigious ASME Blackall Machine Tool and Gage
Award for his paper, Modeling of CBN Tool Flank Wear Progression
in Finish Hard Turning. Huang's co-author was Steven Liang of Georgia
Tech. The Blackall award was established in 1954 for best paper
or papers in the area of machine tools, gauges, or dimensional instruments.
