Clemson engineering programs are among nation’s best
Four graduate programs in Clemson University’s College of Engineering
and Science are among the nation’s 50 best, according to the
2007 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s guidebook of
graduate programs.
Each program was ranked against similar programs at all national doctoral-granting
universities, public or private. Clemson’s environmental engineering
and science program is ranked 20th among the 50 best environmental
engineering graduate programs in the nation. Industrial/manufacturing
engineering earned a spot at number 30 in its category, up three places
from last year. The biomedical/bioengineering program is ranked 42nd,
compared to 46th last year, and civil engineering ranks 48th.
“Having four of our degree programs ranked among the top 50
in U.S. News & World Report, and two of those are higher than
a year ago, underscores the fact that Clemson’s significant
investments in the quality of its degree programs is paying very handsome
dividends. Clemson students truly receive a high-quality, world-class
education,” said Tom Keinath, dean of the College of Engineering
and Science.
