FAQ
Q: What do I do with my Housing application?
A: If you are interested in this program, select that you wish
to participate in the RISE program on the Housing application. This will
communicate to the Housing Department that you wish to participate in
this program.
Q: What if I’m not selected to participate in THE RISE
Program? A: If you are not selected, the Housing Department
will default to your second choice for your residence hall assignment.
Q: What are the selection criteria?
A: Students are selected based on responses on the application,
as well as the submission date on the RISE on-line application. The earlier

the RISE program. Apply early!
Q: When will selections be made?
A: Selections are made in April. All applicants are
notified in writing once selections are made.
Q: Is there a waiting list for this program?
A: Yes. After the initial selections are made, the remaining students
will be placed on a waiting list. Students will be selected off the waiting
list if any accepted students decline the acceptance.
Q: Why doesn't everyone get in who applies?
A: Sanders and Young are rather small residence halls, and
we are unfortunately not able to accommodate everyone who is interested
in participating in the program.
Q: Why is there a program fee?
A: This program provides a strong sense of community and academic
support that helps students reach their goals. To support and encourage these
goals, a program fee of $150 is required. Program fees go to support
Peer Advisors and Resident Hall Tutors.
