The swell has two ranks of generators, one at 4', and one at 8'. The 4' rank produces the usual 8 voices, but the 8' rank produces 16 voices for a total of 24 stops. The 8' Swell rank is the only rank on the instrument that provides more than 8 stops. (Anomalies: (1) There are only six 4' stop tabs on the swell although there are eight tone changers. (2) There are 2 stops and two filters labeled Violin Diapason 8'. )
