In the Fall of 2005, a large electronic organ was donated to the College of Engineering and Science by its builder. The instrument was disconnected and relocated to Clemson during the Spring of 2006, and work has been ongoing since to bring the instrument back on line. With over 50,000 discrete components, over 10,000 separate wires, and about 8,000 individual switches, this is no minor task.

Following the initial renovation, the instrument will be modernized and eventually used as a test-bed for experimental techniques.

Also during the Spring of 2006, a sixteen foot open diapason pedal rank of pipes was offered to the project by the First Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC, where they had been in a storeroom for three decades. We are working to integrate the pipes into the previously all-electronic organ. More details HERE.
