ANALYSIS OF GEOLOGICAL PROCESSES, GEOL 415/615

Developing confidence in using mathematical techniques to analyze geological processes is an important part of becoming a competent hydrogeologist.  Unfortunately, math courses are commonly taken early in most student's educational career, and the material is often forgotten before it can be applied to problems of interest.  The purpose of this course is to review methods typically taught in calculus and differential equations courses and apply that material to problems in geology.  The approach is quite different than typical math courses, however, because we focus on how to apply the methods to problems that are relevant to understanding hydrogeology.
