Continuing Students

Mentor Groups

Our PEER mentor groups were created to help freshmen and transfer students learn about Clemson University. All new PEER students are assigned in groups to a first-year PEER mentor. Your mentor will be a junior, senior or graduate minority student in the College of Engineering and Science and will meet often with your PEER group. He or she will answer questions about life at Clemson, organize study groups and social activities, and make sure you're informed about everything the University has to offer.

Your PEER group will meet within a week of the time you arrive on campus, so you’ll have a circle of friends from the start at Clemson. You and your mentor will spend time together. You may decide to share a meal in the dining hall, work together on a hobby, take aerobics or explore other common interests. However you choose to spend time, your mentor will be there for you -- to listen, to give you the benefit of his or her experience and to be supportive as you adjust to your new life as a Clemson college student.
