Science & Math To Go! is an initiative to improve and support inquiry based, K-8 instruction in Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties of South Carolina. Our mission is to develop, promote and provide exemplary science and math programs to ensure all students have access to equitable, integrated educational opportunities. Established in 1996, with the assistance of Clemson University, Duke Power, the SC Statewide Systemic initiative and the Appalachian Regional Commission, SMTG! rapidly became THE model for science instructional materials support across the state. Over the years, the SMTG! team has generated tremendous excitement for science and mathematics in hundreds of classrooms. We've developed training models to engage teachers in inquiry, promoted widespread adoption of research-based science curriculum materials and spawned a whole new way to go about teaching and learning mathematics. Today, the SMTG! Materials Resource Center delivers over 1,150 science kits annually to public and private schools cumulatively impacting some 30,000 students. The SMTG! initiative is hosted by Clemson University's College of Engineering and facilitated by the Anderson Oconee Pickens Greenville Mathematics & Science Regional CenterSformerly known as the "Hub." SMTG! is a member center of the Association of Science Materials Centers (ASMC)
