IE 486 Production Planning and Control
Rational
Course Objectives:
1. Demonstrate the application of operations research techniques,
statistics, and other analytical industrial
engineering methods to the planning, control,
and design of production systems, and
2. Introduce and explain the use of the following specific techniques:
forecasting, inventory control, aggregate
planning, material requirements planning,
sequencing and scheduling, and line balancing in today's highly
automated production environments.
Prerequisites
IE 380 and IE 384 (each with a grade
of C or higher).
